Softball Recap: Louisa County Takes a Loss

Louisa County was the 4-1 winner over Fluvanna County when they last played one another back in April, but their luck changed this time around. The Lions fell just short of the Flying Flucos by a score of 4-3 on Thursday.

Louisa County saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Alyssa Hopkins, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

Louisa County's loss dropped their record down to 10-5. As for Fluvanna County, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

We've got plenty of inter-region action coming up soon. Louisa County is set to take on their familiar foe Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in the Lions' favor as the squad sits on five straight wins at home while the Patriots have been banged up by five consecutive losses on the road. Meanwhile, Fluvanna County will face off against rival Western Albemarle at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
