Basketball Recap: Palm Grove Christian Takes a Loss

Palm Grove Christian lost against Ruskin Christian back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Palm Grove Christian Gators took a 50-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Ruskin Christian Warriors.

Despite the defeat, Palm Grove Christian saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Gabe Troyer went 8 of 20 en route to 21 points and seven rebounds. Carter Baker was another key player, putting up two points in addition to 11 boards, eight assists, and six steals.

Even though they lost, Palm Grove Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 12 offensive rebounds. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least 11 offensive boards in three consecutive contests.
