Soccer Game Preview: Richmond High School for the Arts vs. James River Midlothian

The Richmond High School for the Arts Bulldogs will be defending their home pitch for the first time this season when they go up against the James River Midlothian Rapids at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Richmond High School for the Arts' offense has struggled lately (the team hasn't scored more than a single goal for nine straight games), a trend the team is no doubt ready to end.

Thursday just wasn't the day for Richmond High School for the Arts' offense. They came up short against Midlothian on Thursday, falling 11-0. While losing is never fun, Richmond High School for the Arts can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia soccer rankings (they are ranked 326th, while Midlothian are ranked 14th).

Meanwhile, after some red-hot attacks on offense in their last three games, James River Midlothian finally came back down to earth on Friday. They fell just short of Monacan by a score of 1-0. James River Midlothian's loss signaled the end of their eight-game winning streak.

James River Midlothian's defeat dropped their record down to 9-4. As for Richmond High School for the Arts, their loss dropped their record down to 1-8.

Richmond High School for the Arts couldn't quite get it done against James River Midlothian in their previous meeting back in May of 2024 as they fell 2-0. Can the Bulldogs avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
