Softball Game Preview: C.H. Yoe Yoemen vs. Thrall Tigers

For the second straight game, C.H. Yoe will face off against Thrall. The Yoemen will square off against the Tigers at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. C.H. Yoe has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with five straight defeats, while Thrall will come in with five straight wins.

C.H. Yoe is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 11 runs on Saturday, they were much more limited against Thrall on Tuesday. They took a 6-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. That's two games in a row now that the Yoemen have lost by exactly five runs.

For Thrall's part, Miley Pokorny spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned run on three hits and racked up 14 Ks. Pokorny has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Mikayla Velasquez, who went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. Riley Luton was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one home run.

Thrall hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least two strikeouts batters in three consecutive contests.

C.H. Yoe's loss dropped their record down to 10-12. As for Thrall, their victory bumped their record up to 13-9.

Fans could be in store for some top-tier slugging on Friday. C.H. Yoe hasn't had any problems when it comes to power this season, having averaged 0.7 home runs per game. However, it's not like Thrall struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 0.8 home runs.
