Baseball Game Preview: North Marion Colts vs. Atlantic Sharks

The North Marion Colts will take on the Atlantic Sharks at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The teams are on pretty different trajectories at the moment (North Marion has three straight victories, Atlantic has four straight losses), but none of that matters once you're on the field.

North Marion proved they can win big on Tuesday (they won by nine) and on Thursday they proved they can win the close ones too. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 win over Forest.

Lucas Nichols looked comfortable as he didn't allow a single earned run over four innings pitched. He has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in 11 consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, North Marion's victory was truly a team effort as five different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was John Collins, who went 1-for-2 with one double.

Meanwhile, Atlantic came up short against Mount Dora on Thursday, falling 8-1.

North Marion's win bumped their record up to 13-11. As for Atlantic, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-8.

North Marion took their victory against Atlantic in their previous matchup back in April of 2021 by a conclusive 14-0 score. Will the Colts repeat their success, or do the Sharks have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
