Basketball Game Preview: Mesa Jackrabbits vs. Westwood Warriors

Mesa and Westwood are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2020, but not for long. The Mesa Jackrabbits will face off against the Westwood Warriors at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. Mesa will be strutting in after a win while Westwood will be coming in after a defeat.

Mesa is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They claimed a resounding 61-27 victory over Dobson. Perhaps unsurprisingly given the team's high-flying offense, the game also marked the team's biggest win of the season.

Meanwhile, it's never fun to lose, and it's even less fun to lose 75-24, which was the final score in Westwood's tilt against Mountain View on Friday. The Warriors have struggled against the Toros recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Mesa's victory was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-9. Those victories came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.3 points per game. As for Westwood, their loss dropped their record down to 2-13.

Everything came up roses for Mesa against Westwood when the teams last played last Friday, as the team secured a 56-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Mesa since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
