 Doddridge County had to travel to play their first game of the season, but the final result was worth the trip. They were the clear victor by  a  24-2 margin over the Webster County Highlanders. That's more bragging rights for Doddridge County, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.
  Phoenix Bonnell made a splash no matter where he played. On the mound, he  pitched three innings while giving up just two earned runs off   four  hits (he also didn't allow any  walks). Bonnell was also big at the plate,  scoring two  runs and  stealing a base while going 1-for-2.
 In other batting news,  Colt Sutton was a standout: he went 2-for-6 with a  home run, four  RBI,  and two  runs. Another player making a difference was  Wyatt Cochran, who  scored four  runs and  stole a base while  getting on base  in all five of his plate appearances.
 Doddridge County will head out on the road to  square off against  Lincoln at 5:30  p.m.  on Friday. As for Webster County, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Richwood at 5:30  p.m.  on Monday.
