Baseball Game Preview: High Tech SD Storm vs. Pioneer Titans

The High Tech SD Storm will head out on the road to square off against the Pioneer Titans at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday. High Tech SD will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

High Tech SD is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-1 win over Fillmore.

Devon Caris spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered only one earned run on three hits. He is becoming a predictor of High Tech SD's success: when he allows at most three earned runs the team is 12-3 (and 5-7 when he doesn't).

At the plate, Nano Acevedo was excellent, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs. He is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last three games he's played.

Meanwhile, Pioneer beat Mountain View 6-3 on Tuesday.

Pioneer is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine matches. That's provided a massive bump to their 18-14 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.1 runs on average over those games. As for High Tech SD, their win was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 17-10.
