Basketball Game Preview: Hawkinsville Red Devils vs. Dooly County Bobcats

The Hawkinsville Red Devils will head out on the road to face off against the Dooly County Bobcats at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Dooly County took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Hawkinsville, who comes in off a win.

Hawkinsville took a loss when they played away from home on Saturday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Tuesday. They secured a 39-33 W over Wheeler County. The victory was some much needed relief for the Red Devils as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Dooly County was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were beaten by Telfair County 83-26. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 447th, while the Trojans are ranked 139th).

Hawkinsville's win ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 5-17. As for Dooly County, their loss dropped their record down to 7-12.

Hawkinsville couldn't quite finish off Dooly County when the teams last played back in January and fell 38-36. A big factor in that loss was the dominant performance of Dooly County's Ja'Kayla Hooks, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds.
