Basketball Recap: Aubrey Kramer's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Ballston Spa over Albany

Ballston Spa lost against Albany back in February of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Ballston Spa Scotties lost 50-26 to the Albany Falcons. While losing is never fun, the Scotties can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' New York basketball rankings (they are ranked 121st, while the Falcons are ranked 29th).

Several Scotties players turned in solid performances despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Aubrey Kramer, who posted eight points and eight rebounds.

Even though they lost, Ballston Spa smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 11 offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in three consecutive contests.

Albany's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Mia Corazzini, who dropped a double-double with ten points and ten boards. Corazzini continues to improve, besting her previous point total in each of the last three games she's played. Azera Gates was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Ballston Spa has been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four games, which has put a noticeable dent in their 10-7 record this season. As for Albany, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 14-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Ballston Spa will face off against Guilderland at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Albany, they will take on Shenendehowa at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Albany is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 60.8 points per game this season.
