Preview: Northside Panthers vs. Sterling Raiders
The Northside Panthers will head out on the road to face off against the Sterling Raiders at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday. Northside comes in on a streak of failing to score more than six points in their last seven games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse.
Northside fell victim to Madison's stalwart defense on Friday and couldn't make it onto the board. They had to suffer through a rough 55-0 loss at the hands of the Marlins.
Meanwhile, Sterling had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 51.3 points), and they went ahead and made it four on Thursday. They walked away with a 39-31 win over Waltrip. This was one game where the offenses had no trouble playing at a high level.
It was another big night for Jacques Brown, who threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns while completing 71.4% of his passes.
Sterling's victory bumped their season record to 5-2 while Northside's loss dropped theirs to 1-6.
Northside was dealt a bruising 82-0 loss at the hands of Sterling in their previous matchup back in October of 2022. Can Northside avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
