Basketball Recap: Chief Ivan Blunka Takes a Loss

Chief Ivan Blunka was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their 20th straight loss dating back to last season. They were six points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 50-44 heartbreaker at the hands of the Nelson Island Islanders.

Nelson Island found their leader in freshman Acelyn Moses, who posted 14 points. Another player making a difference was Kelsey Angaiak, who scored 13 points.

Chief Ivan Blunka's defeat dropped their record down to 0-7. As for Nelson Island, the win got them back to even at 6-6.

Looking ahead, Chief Ivan Blunka is taking a road trip to face off against Newhalen at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Nelson Island does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
