Volleyball Recap: Gresham Community Comes Up Short

Gresham Community was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They took a 2-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Rosholt Hornets. If the Wildcats were looking for revenge after losing 2-0 to the Hornets when the teams met back in October of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

While Gresham Community ultimately came up short, they didn't go down without a fight: they scored at least 17 points in every set they played. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-17.

Their offense was headlined by Alivia Perez and Lizzy May, who picked up three kills apiece. They got some help from Grace Haffner and her five assists. Emily Jensen controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Gresham Community now has a losing record of 9-10. As for Rosholt, their win bumped their record up to 12-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Gresham Community will welcome Oneida Nation at 9:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Rosholt, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Wild Rose at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
