Baseball Recap: Easthampton/Hampshire Comes Up Short

Easthampton/Hampshire was the 5-2 winner over Ludlow when they last played one another back in May of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Eagles fell just short of the Lions by a score of 6-4 on Monday. The Eagles' loss continues a trend for the squad, making it three in a row.

Christian Do'onfrio stepped up to lead a balanced group of hitters: he went 1-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. He has been hot recently, having posted at least one stolen base the last three times he's played. Another player making a difference was Jake Kostek, who got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run.

Easthampton/Hampshire's record now sits at 1-7. As for Ludlow, they moved to 3-5 with that win, which also ended their four-game losing streak.

Coming up, Easthampton/Hampshire will challenge Southwick Regional at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Ludlow, they will face off against Ware at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The Indians will roll in looking for their seventh straight victory, something the Lions surely won't give up without a fight.
