It was a good run, but Cherokee County unfortunately witnessed the end of their seven-game winning streak on Thursday. They fell 72-65 to the Sardis Lions. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Warriors came into the matchup with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' Alabama basketball rankings (they are ranked 117th, while the Lions are ranked 330th).

Cherokee County's defeat dropped their record down to 7-2. As for Sardis, with the win, they broke their five-game losing streak and moved their record to 5-13.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Douglas the next time they take the court. Cherokee County will host Douglas at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, while Sardis will head out to face them at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
