Game recap: Colusa High School Football Team tops Williams

WILLIAMS, Calif. - Colusa (Calif.) kept up a steady attack all game long to defeat Williams (Calif.), 32-8, on Saturday.

After taking the lead on a touchdown run by Estavan Frias in the first quarter, the RedHawks were up 19-0 at the half.

Colusa grew its lead to 32 points entering the fourth quarter. CHS scored two times in the third, including once on a Ryan Abele touchdown run.

With the win the RedHawks extended their winning streak to five games. Colusa defeated Hamilton 41-20 last week.

Colusa's standout player in the win was Alex (Chango) Belmontes. He ran for one touchdown. He has now scored three touchdowns on the season.



Williams' only touchdown came on a 35-yard run by Damian Garcia in the fourth quarter.

Coming into the game CHS had allowed 21.7 points per game this year. The RedHawks held firm on the defensive front, and kept the Yellowjackets well below the 20.9 points it had been averaging per game.

Colusa also won the meeting between the two teams last season, 55-6.
