Football Recap: Hilliard Darby Comes Up Short

Hilliard Darby had lost four straight on the road, but on Friday they dropped down to 2-6 to make it five. They took a 17-11 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Olentangy Braves. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Ohio football rankings (they are ranked 190th, while the Braves are ranked 31st).

Jonah Marsh threw for 66 yards and one touchdown. Jackson Huffman was his top target, picking up 39 receiving yards. On the ground, Braylon Griffith rushed for 160 yards.

As for Olentangy, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 7-1. The victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 12.4 points on average over those games.

Brody Maslouski had a dynamite game, rushing for 130 yards and one TD. Those 130 rushing yards gave him a new career-high.

Looking ahead, Hilliard Darby will welcome Thomas Worthington at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Olentangy, they will square off against Dublin Jerome at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Celtics' defense has only allowed 15 points per game this season, so the Braves' offense will have their work cut out for them.
