Basketball Game Preview: Calallen Wildcats vs. Sinton Pirates

The Calallen Wildcats and the Sinton Pirates will round out the year against one another at at 1:30 p.m. on Monday.

It was a proper cat-fight when Calallen took on Aransas Pass two weeks ago. Calallen fell to Aransas Pass 41-36.

Meanwhile, Sinton waltzed into their match on Friday with eight straight wins... but they left with nine. They came out on top against the Centurions by a score of 48-41. Given the Pirates' advantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 520th, while the Centurions are ranked 1053rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Calallen's loss dropped their record down to 8-8. As for Sinton, they are on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 15 games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-6 record this season.

Everything came up roses for Calallen against Sinton when the teams last played back in November of 2023, as the squad secured a 66-23 win. The rematch might be a little tougher for Calallen since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
