Softball Recap: Natomas Nighthawks vs. El Camino Eagles
Natomas extended their losing streak to nine on Tuesday, dropping them down to 0-9-1. They came up short against the El Camino Eagles, falling 15-0. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Eagles this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 14-1 back in March.
As for El Camino, their victory ended a six-game drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 4-7. Their hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.
For El Camino's part, Oaklee Schwartz and Emi Kuwabara were major factors while hitting and pitching. Throwing, Schwartz tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Kuwabara struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those seven strikeouts gave her a new career-high. At the plate, Schwartz went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base, while Kuwabara got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs. That stolen base was Schwartz's first of the season.
