Baseball Game Preview: Roosevelt Roughriders vs. McKinley Tech Trainers

The Roosevelt Roughriders are taking a road trip to take on the McKinley Tech Trainers at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Roosevelt has given up an average of 9.8 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Roosevelt is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of District of Columbia's top teams: Jackson-Reed, who was ranked first at the time (Roosevelt was ranked 15th). The Roughriders came up short against the Tigers on Friday, falling 18-0. The Roughriders just can't catch a break and have now endured three defeats in a row.

Meanwhile, after soaring to 14 runs the game before, McKinley Tech was a bit more limited in their contest on Monday. They lost 11-0 to Eastern. The matchup marked the first time this season in which the Trainers were not able to get on the board.

Roosevelt's loss dropped their record down to 1-4. As for McKinley Tech, their defeat dropped their record down to 6-4.

Roosevelt skirted past McKinley Tech 5-3 when the teams last played back in March of 2023. Will the Roughriders repeat their success, or do the Trainers have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
