West Ashley hadn't done well against Ashley Ridge recently (they were 0-9 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Thursday. The Wildcats were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Swamp Foxes. For the Wildcats, this counts as revenge for the 3-2 victory the Swamp Foxes walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

The match was exciting from start to finish, as two sets needed extra rallies to gain a two-point lead. The match finished with set scores of 25-19, 28-26, 26-24.

Caroline Robinson paced West Ashley's offense, picking up 11 kills. Robinson got some help from Mason Toporek and her 27 assists. Kendall Delk controlled things from the service line, finishing with three aces.

Ashley Ridge's loss shouldn't obscure the performances of Cameron Gettings, who had 17 digs and two aces, and Lily Godsave, who had 11 assists and three digs. Gettings is on a roll when it comes to aces, as she's now served two or more in each of the last three games she's played.

West Ashley is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-5-1 record this season. As for Ashley Ridge, they dropped their record down to 5-15 with the defeat, which was their eighth straight on the road dating back to last season.

West Ashley wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next matchup, a 2-0 win against Academic Magnet on the 26th. As for Ashley Ridge, they have also already played their next contest, a 3-0 victory against Fort Dorchester on the 30th.
