Highland's game on Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Wednesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 3-2 victory over the Rigby Trojans. This was payback for the Rams, who suffered an 11-7 loss the last time these two teams met.

McKenna Sutton spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and one unearned) run on three hits and racked up seven Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Highland's win was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Dawson Sommers, who went 2-for-3 with two doubles and one run. Those two doubles gave Sommers a new career-high.

Highland's record now sits at 11-6. As for Rigby, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-9 record this season.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Highland beat Rigby by a score of 18-14 later that day.
