Basketball Game Preview: Lufkin Panthers vs. Nacogdoches Dragons

The Lufkin Panthers will square off against the Nacogdoches Dragons at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Both come into the match bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

It was a proper cat-fight when Lufkin took on Whitehouse on Tuesday. Lufkin came out on top against Whitehouse by a score of 48-39.

Meanwhile, Nacogdoches hadn't done well against Jacksonville recently (they were 2-7 in their previous nine matchups), but they didn't let the past get in their way on Tuesday. Nacogdoches snuck past Jacksonville with a 52-46 win. The victory was all the more spectacular given the Dragons' disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 216th, while the Fightin' Indians are ranked 100th).

Nacogdoches is also on a roll lately: they've won eight of their last ten contests, which provided a nice bump to their 18-8 record this season. As for Lufkin, their win bumped their record up to 14-10.
