Baseball Recap: Centennial Comes Up Short

Centennial was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 14th straight loss dating back to last season. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 2-1 heartbreaker at the hands of the Holdrege Dusters.

Devin Slawnyk spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned runs on seven hits and racked up seven Ks.

Centennial's record now sits at 0-12. As for Holdrege, their victory ended an eight-game drought on the road and puts them at 6-10.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Centennial is set to challenge their familiar foe Louisville at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. Meanwhile, Holdrege will take on rival York at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday.
