After a string of six wins, Willmar's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 2-0 to the Byron Bears. Considering the last time the Cardinals couldn't score was back in September, the team can't take the result too hard.

Nora Mitteness paced Willmar's offense, picking up eight kills. Mitteness got some help from Ellery DeBoer and her 13 assists. DeBoer was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Willmar's defeat dropped their record down to 12-6. As for Byron, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 11-5 record this season.

Willmar wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-0 win against Elk River on the 10th. As for Byron, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, a 2-0 loss against Barron on the 10th.
