There's no place like home for Churchill, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Tuesday. They walked away with a 6-3 victory over the Madison Mavericks on Thursday. This was a revenge game for the Chargers: when they faced off against the Mavericks last Tuesday, they had to take a 5-4 defeat.

JD Pease spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on ten hits. What's more, he gave up only two walks, the fewest he's had over his last five games.

On the hitting side, the team relied heavily on Samuel Kennedy, who scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4. Ethan Byrd was another key player, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 1-for-2.

The win snapped Churchill's losing streak at three games and leaves them with a 5-7 record. Even worse, they were so close so many times: the losses came by an average of only 1.33 runs. As for Madison, they now have a losing record of 6-7-1.

Coming up, Churchill will be playing in front of their home fans against Clark at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Madison, they will head out on the road to challenge Reagan at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
