Baseball Game Preview: Atlantic Christian Cougars vs. King's Christian Knights

Atlantic Christian is 1-9 against King's Christian since April of 2015 but they'll have a chance to close the gap a little bit on Tuesday. The Cougars will be playing at home against the Knights at 4:00 p.m. Atlantic Christian is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.8 runs per game this season.

Atlantic Christian had been on a four-game streak of scoring at least ten runs, but Buena put an end to it on Monday. The Cougars came up short against the Chiefs, falling 10-0.

Atlantic Christian saw three different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Adam Schlundt, who went a perfect 1-for-1 with one stolen base.

The home team had won the previous three meetings between King's Christian and Camden Catholic, and Camden Catholic kept the tradition alive. The Knights fell just short of the Fighting Irish by a score of 6-5 on Monday. The Knights have struggled against the Fighting Irish recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost meeting.

MJ Pancurak made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and went 3-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. That home run marked the first that he launched this season.

Atlantic Christian's defeat dropped their record down to 5-4. As for King's Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 6-3.

Tuesday's matchup will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Atlantic Christian hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .369. However, it's not like King's Christian struggles in that department as they've averaged .322. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
