Basketball Recap: Shining Light Academy Takes a Loss

Shining Light Academy lost against Lee Christian back in December of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. The Shining Light Academy Knights had to suffer through a 83-50 loss at the hands of the Lee Christian Falcons.

Lee Christian's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Daniel Rumbold led the charge by going 7 for 13 on his way to 20 points along with eight assists and five rebounds. Rumbold's evening made it three games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. Another player making a difference was Justin Brown, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and ten boards.

Shining Light Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 14-5. As for Lee Christian, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 15-7.

Shining Light Academy and Lee Christian should be looking forward to their upcoming games as both have a sizable advantage in the MaxPreps North Carolina Rankings. Shining Light Academy will take on Community Baptist at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday up 332 places (237 vs. 569). Similarly, Lee Christian (ranked 248th) will meet Bradford Academy (ranked 623rd) at 4:00 p.m. on Monday.
