Baseball Game Preview: Daniel Boone Trailblazers vs. Seymour Eagles

The Daniel Boone Trailblazers are taking a road trip to take on the Seymour Eagles at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Daniel Boone's pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so Seymour's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Seymour will be up against a hot Daniel Boone squad: the team just extended their winning streak to three. Daniel Boone was the clear victors by a 7-0 margin over Jefferson County on Friday. The Trailblazers might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight matchups by six runs or more this season.

Kaleb Ray tossed a big game, not allowing a single earned run while striking out seven over six innings pitched.

At the plate, Daniel Boone let Jackson McCurry and Will Gregory run wild. McCurry scored a run and stole a base while going 3-for-4, while Gregory scored two runs while going 2-for-3. The team also got some help courtesy of Clay Rowland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 2-for-3.

Meanwhile, Seymour came up short against Watertown on Friday and fell 6-3. The game marked the Eagles' lowest-scoring contest so far this season.

Seymour also got a good showing from Brooks Berry, who tossed four innings while giving up just one earned (and one unearned) run off six hits.

On the hitting side, Seymour saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Drew Childress, who scored a run while going 2-for-3.

Daniel Boone's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 8-1-1. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.7 runs on average over those games. As for Seymour, their loss dropped their record down to 4-3.
