Soccer Game Preview: Lake Park vs. Westinghouse

The Lake Park Lancers will face off against the Westinghouse Warriors at 12:30 p.m. on Sunday. Lake Park has a tough task ahead: they'll enter the game with four straight losses, while Westinghouse will come in with seven straight wins.

Lake Park is likely headed into the matchup with a focus on the second half, which is when things went downhill against Bartlett on Saturday. The Lancers came up short against the Hawks, falling 4-0. While losing is never fun, Lake Park can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois soccer rankings (they are ranked 243rd, while Bartlett are ranked 98th).

Meanwhile, Westinghouse kept a clean sheet against Kelly last Thursday. They put the hurt on the Trojans with a sharp 7-0 victory. Westinghouse might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won five contests by three goals or more this season.

Jasmin Geronimo and Karina Tapia scored all seven of Westinghouse's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 36 goals.

Westinghouse's win was their fifth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-0. As for Lake Park, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-10.
