Volleyball Preview: Mathis and Bishop Square Off

Mathis has played every game this season on their home court, but they'll have to hit the road on Tuesday. They will take on the Bishop Badgers at 7:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Mathis was handed a three-set loss in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Friday. They had just enough and edged out Pettus 2-1.

The match was a true back-and-forth as no team won consecutive sets, but in the end it was Mathis who won the one that mattered. The match finished with set scores of 25-22, 9-25, 25-23.

Meanwhile, Bishop earned a 2-0 win over Falls City on Friday.

Bishop never let Falls City take a set, but things got pretty close in the second set. Once all was said and done, the final set scores wound up at 25-21, 25-22.

Bishop has now won three of their last four games on the road. That's provided a massive bump to their 1-5 record this season. As for Mathis, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.
