Volleyball Recap: Waller's Undefeated Season over After Three Games

After flying high against Bryan on Monday, Waller came back down to earth. The Bulldogs fell just short of the Cedar Ridge Raiders by a score of 2-1 on Thursday. The Bulldogs were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Raiders apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in August of 2023.

In a back-and-forth that saw neither team win consecutive sets, Waller sadly dropped the once that decided the match. The final score came out to 25-22, 21-25, 25-20.

Dakota Hieber paced Waller's offense, picking up 16 kills. Hieber got some help from Sasha Keys and her 19 assists. Keys was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Having lost for the first time this season, Waller fell to 2-1. As for Cedar Ridge, they now also have a winning record of 2-1.

Waller has already played their next contest, a 3-0 defeat against Liberty Hill on the 14th. As for Cedar Ridge, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 2-0 loss against Randall on the 15th.
