            Softball Recap: Evanston Wildkits vs. Palatine Pirates        
        
		
        
        
            After having lost a blowout in their  previous game against New Trier, Evanston was happy to have turned things around  on Saturday. They came out on top against the Palatine Pirates by a score of  9-5. The  win was some much needed relief for the Wildkits as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

 Isabelle Anthony made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound,   pitching seven innings while giving up  three earned  (and two unearned) runs off   seven  hits. What's more,  she posted four  strikeouts, the most she's  had  over her last eight  matchups. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI.
 In other batting news,  Maddie Berry was  excellent,  going 2-for-3 with two  RBI, one  run,  and one  double. That's the most  hits  she has posted since back in April.  Olivia Stanczak was another key player,  going 2-for-4 with one  run, one  double,  and one  RBI.
 Evanston  kept the outfield on their toes and  finished the game with 12  hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their  hit total in four consecutive  contests.
Evanston's victory bumped their record up to 4-11. As for Palatine, their defeat dropped their record down to 10-10-1.
 Evanston wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next  game,  a  9-2  loss against Glenbard East on the 3rd. As for Palatine, they have also already played their next match,  a  2-1  defeat against Elmwood Park on the 3rd.
