Softball Recap: Mendon Unity Takes a Loss

If Mendon Unity was riding high fresh off their 12-2 takedown of West Prairie last Wednesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Mustangs came up short against the Barry Western Wildcats on Monday, falling 16-0. The Mustangs haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last seven times they've met.

Mendon Unity's defeat dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Barry Western, they have been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 6-4 record this season.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Mendon Unity will welcome Rushville-Industry at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Mustangs' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Rockets have averaged an impressive 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Barry Western, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Pittsfield at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
