Basketball Game Preview: Potomac School Panthers vs. Maret Frogs

Potomac School and Maret are an even 5-5 against one another since January of 2016, but not for long. The Potomac School Panthers will welcome the Maret Frogs at 5:45 p.m. on Thursday. Potomac School will be looking to extend their current five-game winning streak.

Potomac School is headed in fresh off scoring the most points they have all season. They blew past Georgetown Day, posting a 77-33 victory. The Panthers have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won five contests by 21 points or more this season.

Meanwhile, Maret faced Sidwell Friends in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Monday. Maret came up short against Sidwell Friends, falling 68-46. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Frogs have suffered since March 1, 2024.

Potomac School is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last nine games, which provided a nice bump to their 9-6 record this season. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 61.2 points per game. As for Maret, their loss ended a four-game streak of away wins dating back to last season and brought them to 10-4.
