Recap: Turlock Bulldogs vs. Oak Ridge Trojans
The Turlock Bulldogs and the Oak Ridge Trojans squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but sadly the Turlock Bulldogs had to settle for second. Turlock was beaten by Oak Ridge 45-6. Turlock's defeat signaled the end of their six-game winning streak.
Despite the loss, Turlock had strong showings from Mateo Valencia, who picked up 145 receiving yards and three touchdowns, and Devon Lambert, who threw for 204 yards and three touchdowns on only 19 passes.
Oak Ridge was led to victory by Joaquin Graves-Mercado and Kaleb Edwards. Graves-Mercado threw for 223 yards and three touchdowns on only 16 passes, while Edwards picked up 153 receiving yards and three touchdowns. Jasen Womack was another key contributor, rushing for 51 yards and a touchdown on only five carries.
Turlock's loss dropped their record down to 6-6. As for Oak Ridge, their victory bumped their record up to 9-2.
Turlock does not have any more games scheduled as of now. Oak Ridge will take on Central Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. One thing working in Central Catholic's favor is that they have now posted big point totals in their last seven matches.
