Recap: Cherokee Trail Cougars vs. Legend Titans
On Monday, the Cherokee Trail Cougars faced the Legend Titans in a battle between two of the state's top teams. Cherokee Trail came out on top against Legend by a score of 52-42. The win was nothing new for Cherokee Trail as they're now sitting on three straight.
Cherokee Trail got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Aaliyah Broadus out in front who scored 16 points along with two steals. Damara Allen was another key contributor, dropping a double-double on 11 points and 11 rebounds.
When it comes to explaining why Legend lost, one person who can't be blamed is Katie Lamb. Despite the final result, she scored eight points along with five rebounds and two blocks. Another player making a difference was Aubrey Cook, who scored five points along with three blocks.
Cherokee Trail's victory bumped their record up to 11-2. As for Legend, their loss dropped their record down to 11-1.
Cherokee Trail will be playing at home against Grandview at 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday. The matchup should be an exciting one, as these teams are ranked near one another in Colorado (Grandview is ranked tenth, while Cherokee Trail is ranked first). Legend on the road again on Thursday and play against ThunderRidge at 7:00 p.m. on January 11th. Hopefully ThunderRidge focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 on Tuesday.
