Halls came tearing into Wednesday's contest with seven straight wins (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 8.6 runs), and they left with even more momentum. Their pitcher stepped up to hand the Humboldt Vikings a 16-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Tigers also won the last time the pair played back in April of 2024.

Luke Land made a splash while hitting and pitching. He struck out six batters over three innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Those six strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring two runs.

In other batting news, Jaxx Hastings and James Nelson did most of the damage at the plate: Hastings scored two runs while going 2-for-2, while Nelson scored a run while going 2-for-2. Those two hits gave Nelson a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Rylan Daniels, who scored a run while going 2-for-2.

Halls always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Humboldt only posted an OBP of .273.

Halls pushed their record up to 17-8 with the win, which was their seventh straight at home. Those home victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 1.7 runs on average over those games. As for Humboldt, they are on a 28-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-15.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Halls beat the Vikings by a score of 16-1 later that day.
