Baseball Recap: Erie Red Devils vs. Humboldt Cubs
Erie was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They lost 9-0 to the Humboldt Cubs. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against the Cubs this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 10-0 on Thursday.
Erie saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kyler Yackle, who went 1-for-2 with two stolen bases. Those stolen bases were Yackle's first of the season.
Erie's loss dropped their record down to 0-6. As for Humboldt, the win (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 4-1.
Erie will get a bit of extra time to process the defeat as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Girard at 4:30 p.m. on the 15th. As for Humboldt, they will look to defend their home field on Monday against Bluestem.
