Recap: Fraser Ramblers vs. Utica Chieftains
The Fraser Ramblers lost against the Utica Chieftains back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Friday. Fraser might have been a little too into the holiday spirit, gifting Utica an easy 72-47 victory. While losing is never fun, Fraser can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Michigan basketball rankings (they are ranked 322nd, while Utica is ranked 14th).
Utica had a senior duo take command as Mason Brodi scored 20 points along with six assists and three steals and Luke Cottingham scored 21 points along with six rebounds. That makes it five consecutive games in which Brodi has scored at least 25% of Utica's points. Sebastian Soriano was another key contributor, scoring 12 points along with six assists.
Fraser's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Utica, the victory for they keeps them at an undefeated 6-0.
Fraser's homestand continues as they prepare to take on Lake Shore at 7:00 p.m. on December 19th. As for Utica, they will head out on the road to face off against Anchor Bay at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
