Football Recap: California Comes Up Short

California was the 42-36 winner over Hallsville when they last played one another back in October of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Pintos lost 47-22 to the Indians on Friday.

Landon Cunningham had another great game (as he tends to do), rushing for 85 yards and three touchdowns, while also throwing for 354 yards and three TDs while completing 78.9% of his passes for Hallsville. The dominant performance also gave Cunningham a new career-high in passer rating (137.6). Abraham Rhoades was another key player, picking up 167 receiving yards and a pair of scores.

California's loss dropped their record down to 1-8. As for Hallsville, they moved to 3-6 with that win, which also ended their three-game losing streak.

As of now, neither California nor the Indians have any future games scheduled.
