Soccer Game Preview: Coppell vs. Marcus

The Coppell Cowboys will face off against the Marcus Marauders at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Coppell is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 4.1 goals per game this season.

Coppell is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Texas' top teams: Flower Mound, who was ranked 21st at the time (Coppell was ranked second). Neither Coppell nor Flower Mound could gain the upper hand on Friday so the two teams had to settle for a 1-1 draw. The result kept the Cowboys happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Their goal came courtesy of Reagan Roberson, who's now up to 15 this season.

Meanwhile, Marcus entered their tilt with Little Elm on Friday with five consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with six. Their defense stepped up to hand the Lobos a 5-0 shutout. The high-flying offensive performance was a huge turnaround for the Marauders considering their one-goal performance the game before.

Marcus pushed their record up to 8-1-3 with the win, which was their third straight on the road. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those three matches. Coppell's draw makes their record 11-0-2 this season.
