Softball Recap: Kennewick's Losing Streak Snapped at Five Games

Kennewick had lost five games straight , but after bumping their record up to 8-13 on Friday that streak is in the rearview. They were the clear victors by a 14-3 margin over the Walla Walla Blue Devils. The Lions might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won eight games by six runs or more this season.

Addie Logan spent all six innings played on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three earned runs on six hits and racked up six Ks. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kailey Palmer and Addison Fielder did most of the damage at the plate: Palmer went a perfect 4-for-4 with three runs and two RBI, while Fielder went 1-for-3 with one home run and four RBI. That's the most runs Palmer has posted since back in April. Rylee Bendewald was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three runs, one double, and one RBI.

As for Walla Walla, they dropped their record down to 3-16 with the loss, which was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat they have suffered against Kennewick since May 6, 2021.

On Walla Walla's side, they saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ellie Mclaughlin ?26, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with one run. Mady Olivares ?26 also deserves some recognition as she scored her first run of the season.

Kennewick will have a chance to go back-to-back against Walla Walla: the pair will be back at it again later today.
