Football Recap: Bethune Has No Trouble Against Cotopaxi

The Bethune Bobcats strolled past the Cotopaxi Pirates with points to spare on Saturday, taking the game 40-26.

Ismael Perla had a dynamite game, rushing for 150 yards and a pair of scores while picking up 8.3 yards per carry, and also throwing for 42 yards and one touchdown. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, forcing one fumble and making eight total tackles. Another player making a difference was Josh Salinas, who picked up 78 receiving yards and a pair of TDs.

The win got Bethune back to even at 1-1. As for Cotopaxi, they are on a five-game losing streak (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-2.

Bethune and Cotopaxi will both get their first taste of in-conference action in their upcoming games. The Bobcats are set to face off against their familiar foe Deer Trail at 2:00 p.m. on Friday. Meanwhile, Cotopaxi will square off against rival Branson/Kim at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
