Basketball Recap: Savannah Takes a Loss

Savannah was the 43-30 winner over McIntosh County Academy when they last played one another back in December of 2018, but their luck changed this time around. The Savannah Bluejackets fell to the McIntosh County Academy Buccaneers 39-33.

McIntosh County Academy got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was J?Myiah Moore out in front who posted ten points in addition to seven rebounds and seven steals. Moore has been hot, having posted two or more steals the last seven times she's played. Another player making a difference was Cassie McIntosh, who had ten points and five rebounds.

Savannah now has a losing record at 4-5. As for McIntosh County Academy, they are on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a massive bump to their 6-8 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Savannah will head out to square off against Emanuel County Institute at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Someone's luck will take a turn for the better: Emanuel County Institute has lost three straight at home , while Savannah has lost three on the road. As for McIntosh County Academy, they will venture away from home to challenge Screven County at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
