Basketball Recap: Benbrook Takes a Loss

If Benbrook was feeling good fresh off their 55-33 takedown of Western Hills last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Benbrook Bobcats took a 57-52 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eastern Hills Highlanders. While losing is never fun, the Bobcats can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Texas basketball rankings (they are ranked 622nd, while the Highlanders are ranked 188th).

When it comes to explaining why Benbrook lost on Friday, don't look at Jayden Hall. Despite the final result, he went 7 for 17 en route to 17 points and five rebounds. That's the most points Hall has posted since back in November of 2024. Kade Cross was another key player, putting up 11 points and three steals.

Benbrook's defeat dropped their record down to 15-13. As for Eastern Hills, their win was their fourth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 15-7.

Coincidentally, both will both be playing Carter-Riverside the next time they take the court. Eastern Hills will head out to face Carter-Riverside at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, while Benbrook will host them at 7:30 p.m. on January 31st.
