Basketball Recap: Clearfield Falls Despite Big Games from Braison Patrick and Ev Maines

Clearfield suffered their biggest defeat since December 19, 2024 on Monday. They lost 81-57 to the Tyrone Golden Eagles. The loss continues a trend for the Bison in their matchups with the Golden Eagles: they've now lost five in a row.

Clearfield's loss came despite strong showings from Ev Maines and Braison Patrick. Maines went 7-for-11 en route to 17 points, while Patrick posted 24 points. Patrick's evening made it six games in a row in which he has scored at least 17 points. Another player making a difference was Parker Collins, who had nine points.

Clearfield's defeat dropped their record down to 11-9. As for Tyrone, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 17-4.

Clearfield has already played their next game (against Curwensville), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. As for Tyrone, they will face off against State College at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Tyrone knows how to get points on the board -- the team has finished with 55 points or more in their past four matchups -- so hopefully State College likes a good challenge.
