Basketball Recap: Cesar E. Chavez Comes Up Short

Cesar E. Chavez lost against Lamar back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Saturday. The Cesar E. Chavez Lobos took a blow against the Lamar Texans, falling 79-9. The Lobos have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

It was another big night for Phoenix Sneed, who almost dropped a double-double on 29 points and nine steals for Lamar. That makes it five consecutive games in which Sneed has scored at least a third of Lamar's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Madison Tran, who went 5 of 8 en route to 11 points.

Cesar E. Chavez's defeat dropped their record down to 1-7. As for Lamar, they now have a winning record of 7-6.

Cesar E. Chavez will host Washington at 1:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Lamar, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Cypress Park at 12:00 p.m. on December 31st.
