Basketball Game Preview: Gainesville Red Elephants vs. Chattahoochee Cougars

The Gainesville Red Elephants will venture away from home to face off against the Chattahoochee Cougars at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Chattahoochee took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Gainesville, who comes in off a win.

Last Friday, even if it wasn't a dominant performance, Gainesville beat Seckinger 57-51. Given the Red Elephants' advantage in MaxPreps' Georgia basketball rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Jaguars are ranked 90th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, after a string of four wins, Chattahoochee's good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They fell 61-49 to Johns Creek.

The win made it two in a row for Gainesville and bumps their season record up to 13-6. As for Chattahoochee, their defeat dropped their record down to 11-8.

Everything came up roses for Gainesville against Chattahoochee in their previous matchup back in December of 2024, as the team secured a 78-40 victory. The rematch might be a little tougher for Gainesville since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
