Basketball Recap: Randleman Picks Up Ninth Straight Win on the Road

Uwharrie Charter Academy typically has all the answers at home, but on Tuesday Randleman proved too difficult a challenge. They came out on top against the Uwharrie Charter Academy Eagles by a score of 77-66. Given the Tigers' advantage in MaxPreps' North Carolina basketball rankings (they are ranked 88th, while the Eagles are ranked 245th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Randleman's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Tyshaun Goldston, who went 9 of 14 to rack up 23 points and eight boards. Goldston has been hot recently, having posted eight or more rebounds the last three times he's played. Chase Farlow was another key player, going 9 for 12 en route to 18 points and seven boards.

Randleman smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with ten offensive boards. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now pulled down at least ten offensive rebounds in four consecutive matchups.

Uwharrie Charter Academy's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylan Brown, who went 6 of 7 from beyond the arc on his way to 18 points. Those 18 points gave Brown a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Braeden Lamb, who shot 4-for-4 from downtown and almost dropped a double-double on 16 points and nine rebounds.

Randleman's win was their ninth straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 18-1. Those victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 65.2 points over those games. As for Uwharrie Charter Academy, their defeat dropped their record down to 16-6.
